“As a nutrition and lifestyle coach, I help busy women avoid burnout and lead with their intuition to discover a deeper connection with their mind, body and soul. So that they can find nourishment and fulfilment in all areas of their life. I work with some incredible women on my 1:1 coaching programme: Nourish + Align, they’ve gone on to truly thrive in all aspects of their lives. By learning how to truly nourish their bodies with delicious foods and deepening their connection with themselves, they have really changed their lives.
I approach nutrition and lifestyle coaching in a holistic way as I truly believe that we have complete control over our lives when we are connected to our bodies.
I decided to study with IHS after experiencing a major burnout in 2019. I operated out of an all-or-nothing mind-set for a very long time, I was the Queen of ‘let me just do this’, ‘I’ll be happy when…’ and I would reward myself with rest every once in a while. I was so disconnected that I didn’t even realise it until I decided to train for a marathon – that was the turning point.
I was living my life on autopilot, I wasn’t nourishing myself properly and I was over-training. This showed up in so many areas of my life and resulted in a complete burnout, everything was out of alignment for me. After qualifying with IHS, I changed my life and now I help women to do the same, to transition from burnout to balance, autopilot to alignment, nourishment and fulfilment.
I would say one of the most transformative things I discovered throughout my studies with IHS was the impact of stress on the body and how that can really impact so many areas of health, not just mentally, but physically too. Learning this really empowered me to discover a different side to nutrition – the importance of mindfulness, stress management and balance.
I chose the nutrition and lifestyle coaching course because I’ve always loved cooking, I find the science extremely fascinating and that course felt most in alignment with my values and what I wanted to bring to the world as a coach.
IHS have a wonderful art of simplifying everything, I didn’t feel extremely overwhelmed at any point during the course and I knew that when I did feel confused or needed a little more clarity, there was always my course tutor, Lynne, who I could reach out to. I was working full time as a Flight Attendant whilst studying and I found it relatively easy to balance the workload whilst working many different shifts.
I love working as a nutrition and lifestyle coach and studying with IHS was probably one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself, my health and my life. When I initially enrolled I had no idea about the endless opportunities and possibilities that would arise for me, it’s been a beautiful journey!
As 2020 is coming to an end, I’m currently working with clients on their visions for 2021 and supporting them to become the most nourished and fulfilled version of themselves. As well as this, I’m taking time to reflect on 2020 as a new business owner and my first year as a coach. I’m planning some secret 2021 projects and I can’t wait to get started!
