Over the lockdown, I trained up to be a Personal Trainer and continued to become a Strength and Conditioning Coach. I set up my own business, Feel Good Health and Fitness in June 2021.
As a coach, I regularly give nutrition advice and I wanted to be of greater value to my clients, and this is why I commenced my studies with Institute of Health Sciences. The course definitely gave me more in depth knowledge and in time I will continue to the Nutritional Therapy course.
The online aspect allowed me to study when the time suited my work schedule. The case study at the end of the course was a great exercise and I got some great pointers from my tutor. Having the lifestyle coaching element in addition to my nutrition allows for a more rounded approach to coaching as everything is connected. The course also gave me an opportunity to reflect on myself and focus on areas to improve.
I am using my knowledge a lot and offer 1 to 1 Nutrition Support, Corporate Wellness, Healthy Food Made Easy demos and most recently am hosting wellness retreats. My next retreat is on 6-8th May in Ahakista, West Cork and there I will be doing Food Demos and Nutrition talks.
